MYP Yr 2 | Technology (resistant)| Course Overview

In this course students will follow a design cycle model to investigate a range of contexts and generate and develop solutions using a range of different materials, which will include resistant materials, compliant materials and food. Tasks may be structured to consist of a core or common element and an extension that allows for the student to demonstrate creativity and original thinking.  Students will consider their design solutions within wider contexts, including cultural dimensions and designing for the needs of others and will build on designing and making skills from year 7.  Students will consider the role of ICT within their designs and combine traditional skills with the use of computer aided design and manufacture.
