MYP Yr 2 | Arts (Visual Arts) | Course Overview

During the Year 8 students will be building on existing skills in creative expression and understanding of the different aspects and functions of visual art through history. The cultural links in art will be a focus for both practical artwork and theoretical understanding for students. They will start to explore a wider range of media and materials, and consider how they can use them effectively in a broad range of artistic endeavours.

Unit Title: Aboriginal Art 
AOI Focus: Environments
 Unit Question: “How does the world in which we live define who we are?”  
Indicative Timing: 5 weeks  
MYP Assessment Criterion: A – Knowledge & Understanding, B – Application, D – Personal Engagement 
Indication of summative assessment: Aboriginal dreamtime painting, written response to "How are the Australian Aboriginals connected to their environments?"
